Home / News / Necessities for the scholarship process

As an athlete, the goal is to have the opportunity to study while playing soccer, basketball, golf, or any other sport. However, we at NARU Academy know that the road to achieving this goal can be daunting, so we prepared a few “must-dos” to get you started on this path to get an athletic scholarship:

Networking, networking, networking. (Did we mention networking?)

It is true that knowing someone can get you in contact with recruiters. Speak to friends, relatives, alumni, neighbors – anyone you can connect with who can help you go from where you are to where you want to be.

Improve your social media presence.

The world is becoming increasingly digitized, and so is the recruiting process.
– Manage what and where you post – recruiters can see that.
– Create a LinkedIn and Athlete Profile – Guides for both can be found here and here, respectively.

Act like everyone is watching.

Treat every interaction as an opportunity to display your character. Do the right thing at the right time, regardless of who is watching. This will make recruiting interviews easier when the time comes.
